OPENING PRAYER Heavenly Father, we gather in the name of your Son, prompted by the Holy Spirit, to thank you for your great love for the world and for each one of us. We believe that you speak to us through the scriptures, through the Church and through each other. We ask you to help us and be with us now as we reflect on what it means to believe in you and in the teaching of your Church. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen CLOSING PRAYER We thank you God our Father for this time together. We thank you most especially for the love you have shown to us in Jesus your Son. Help us to learn from him, to live like him and to love like him. May his love be our way, our truth, and our life. May his love expand our hearts to embrace our neighbour in need, whoever they may be. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen We say ‘Amen’ at the end of our prayers. It is a Hebrew word expressing agreement and means ‘let it be so.’
